Lloyd Rego has been in the Financial Services Industry since 1993. He started his career, while still studying for his graduation, with a DSA of CitiBank. He always wanted to be financially independent and was reluctant to depend on his family for education expenses. This habit has always kept him busy and he has never looked back. While in service he would invest in equities with some encouragement from his uncle and had a small portfolio back then.

He completed his graduation in Commerce in 1995 and then completed a Diploma in Management Studies (DMS) with Bombay University. Followed by an MBA with the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland UK.

Post the MBA, he got into a consulting role and would help MSME’s with challenges in their business and resolve them through the processes set out in the ISO systems. He also completed his lead auditor’s certification for ISO 9000 during this time. This job continued for a while and then he realized that he should move into Financial Services as he was a Commerce Graduate with a Post-Graduation in Management Studies focusing on Finance and Strategy.

He took up a job as an Equity Analyst and started investing and interacting with business owners / senior management of various companies. This helped him get a sound understanding of the various nuances of running a business and linking this knowledge to equity investing.

He was soon shorted-listed by a leading Insurance Company in their Credit Insurance Department. He took up this assignment reluctantly as he was enjoying his role in the stock market. He was sent to their reinsurers regional office in Singapore for specialized training. The new role was challenging as it involved a new subject “Trade Credit Insurance” – the insurance of non-payments between two business entities....

He got involved in this subject and then moved up the Corporate Ladder in various General Insurance Companies including International Insurance Brokers. Handling assignments from business development, underwriting, claims settlement/negotiations, product filing, product development, product launch, etc. He traveled across the country and build strong relationships. His last role was Head Bancassurance with an Indo-Japanese Insurer managing a Nationalized Bank with 3200+ branches and 50 zonal offices besides heading a few other verticals at the organization. This is where he realized the huge void in serving MSMEs and Retail customers on transferring Risks and Money Matters.

Over the years from working at a young age to completing his higher education, going down to living off expensive credit from credit cards to being a debt-free individual he has managed to have; a loving family, his own office, a dedicated team of enthusiastic professionals and most of all generate positive cashflows - leading a healthy life with good professional work and family life balance.

From his experience over the years, he has seen both - ups and downs and finally he benefitted from regular investments in various Financial Products. Based on his experience he wants to encourage people to organize themselves financially at an early age so that they have an additional source of income besides their business, profession, service/job. He also strongly propagates that one must plan and save for contingencies when the going is good. With this mission, he quit his thriving corporate career at the age of 40 and set out on a path to realizing his calling of educating people and getting them to attain Financial Balance and Prosperity.
